Our Story

Built by a dad, for his daughter. Now it's yours.

When Mira turned two, everything changed.

She was this curious bundle of joy with more energy and enthusiasm than we knew what to do with. My wife Radhika and I made a decision: no screens. Not a judgment on anyone who does differently. Just the choice we made for our family.

Which sounds simple until you realise you need to fill every waking hour with something better than a phone. Not just during play time, but during meals. During the 4pm window when she's tired but won't nap. During mornings when we're both working and need 15 minutes of focused play.

So we did what every parent does.

We researched. We made a hundred lists. We subscribed to products. We scoured Pinterest. We kept making and remaking lists of activities that were fun AND developmental.

But every time, we hit the same wall: the activity needed something we didn't have. A specific type of paint. Sensory beads. Craft supplies from a store 20 minutes away.

Every “simple activity” turned into a grocery run. The lists we made on Sunday were abandoned by Tuesday.

So we started doing something different. We made lists of activities using only things we already had at home. Spoons. Bowls. Socks. Rice. Clothespins. Things from the kitchen drawer, the laundry basket, the garden.

It worked. Mira loved it. And suddenly our mornings had a shape. Not a schedule, just a direction. Something worth doing together before the day took over.

That's why I built Tovi.

Not because I had a startup idea. Because I needed it. Every single morning, I was opening my phone thinking “what should we do with Mira today?” And the answer was either a 45-minute Pinterest craft or a guilt trip from a parenting blog.

Parents don't lack love.
They lack ideas at 8am.

The gap isn't motivation. It's activation energy. Every parent wants to do something meaningful. Tovi closes the distance between wanting to and actually doing it.

As I started sharing these lists with friends, other new parents, parents at Mira's nursery, Radhika's mom friends, I realised more parents could benefit from this.

Every parent I showed it to said the same thing:

“I need this.”

So here it is. The lists we made for Mira, made available to every parent who's ever stood in their kitchen at 8am thinking “what now?”

Who this is for

🚛

The dad doing FaceTime activities from his truck cab

👩‍⚕️

The nurse who only has Tuesday and Thursday mornings

👵

The grandmother who wants to do more than just watch

📱

The mom who googles “activities for 2 year old” at 6am

🤝

The nanny who wants to do something meaningful, not just pass time

👨‍👧

The weekend dad who wants every custody hour to count

If you've ever thought “I should do something with my kid today” then Tovi is for you.

What we believe

No screens

Not a judgment. A choice. Children learn through their hands, their senses, and the person sitting next to them. Every Tovi activity is built on that.

Nothing to buy. Ever.

Spoons, rice, socks, leaves. If it’s not already in your kitchen drawer, we won’t suggest it. We lived the grocery run problem. We’re not passing it on.

10 minutes is enough

You don’t need an hour. Ten minutes on the floor with your child, fully present, no phone. That’s where the magic actually is.

No guilt. None.

Skip a day. Do one instead of two. Half-finish one. All fine. You’re already a good parent. We’re just here to make the mornings easier.

The research behind it

Every activity covers one of eight developmental areas, informed by Montessori pedagogy, RIE principles, and contemporary developmental psychology. They grow the whole child, not just the “smart” parts.

🧹

Practical Life

Pouring, folding, helping with dinner. Skills that build independence.

🌈

Sensorial

What does sand feel like? What does rain sound like? Curiosity lives here.

💬

Language

Naming things, telling stories. Language grows in conversation, not flashcards.

🔢

Mathematics

Sorting socks by color. Counting spoons. Patterns are everywhere.

🎨

Creative

Drawing, building, pretending. Where imagination meets confidence.

🌿

Outdoor & Nature

Leaves, puddles, shadows, bugs. The best classroom there is.

🤸

Movement

Jumping, balancing, climbing. Big bodies need big movement.

🤗

Grace & Courtesy

Please, thank you, taking turns. The quiet skills that shape who they become.

A note from Nameet

Every moment of engaged, loving play is a moment that tells your child: I'm here. I see you. Let's do something together.

I built Tovi because I kept opening my phone looking for “what to do with my kid today” and finding either a 45-minute craft or a guilt trip. There had to be something in between. Something that respects your time, your child's curiosity, and the fact that you're already a good parent.

That's what this is.

Your trust matters

Designed with care, backed by research

Every activity is grounded in child development research and adapted for real home environments. No algorithms choosing content. Just thoughtful curation.

No data collected on your child

We don't track your child. We don't sell your data. Your child's information stays on your device. No ads. Not now, not ever.

Small team, real parents

We're not a big tech company. We use Tovi every morning with our own daughter. Every feature is something we needed first.

Your child doesn't need a $40 toy.
They need you, your kitchen table,
and a little bit of time.

That's enough. It always was.
